My husband of 20 years and I have never bought gifts for V-Day. We have always gone with the idea that the gift giving is created by companies out to make money and have no interest in buying into that. We like to do special things throughout the year together. On Valentine's Day, the kids and I will make a special dessert and the four of us will share in it together.

I kinda think V-day is sort of a dumb holiday. I love my husband every day and try to show it every day -- so what's the big deal about some Hallmark holiday?

Anyway, we usually try to share a nice meal together. This year, I'm planning on making some fondue and renting "Fireproof" from Redbox.
